5 Easy Zapier Marketing Automations to Save Time!

V12 Marketing SEO Marketing Automation Tips

With so many marketing tools and services, it can get difficult to keep track of everything.

You have advertising platforms, like Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook, and more. There’s local listings, like Google My Business, Yelp, and Bing Places. SEO tools, like Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, and Facebook Analytics. There’s CRM solutions like Hubspot, Marketo, and Salesforce. The list goes on and on! So how can you manage all these tools without losing too much time?

V12 Marketing almost always recommends leveraging Zapier in some way to help, but Marketing Automation can be tricky for users without much prior experience. Zapier is a valuable tool for all kinds of verticals, including marketing. But are you making the most of it?

Here’s a few easy examples of automations to make your life a bit easier when managing digital marketing campaigns.

1. RavenTools + WordPress

Publish a new blog post? Track those keywords! With RavenTools and WordPress, we can automate the creation of new SEO and keyword targets in RavenTools. This is a serious time saver, and guarantees that the work will get done every single time. Combined with automated reporting with RavenTools, we’ve created quite the SEO powerhouse all working behind the scenes!

2. Link Shortener

Unfortunately, Google sunsetted their URL shortener earlier in 2019. And while there are other options out there, like Bitly and Sniply, sometimes these are not ideal. Sometimes you need URLs shortened automatically, from services like Google Sheets, or Excel.

This is where Zapier is worth its weight in gold. There are many reasons to use a link shortener, from tracking, to post copy conservation. Zapier makes this easy with built in functionality and combined usage with other applications.

3. Zapier + Twitter Lists

Popular social network Twitter is still being used by consumers and brands more than ever. But like any network, mindlessly blasting content and not engaging with your peers is not recommended. One (often overlooked) feature of Twitter is “Lists” which can be automated using Zapier.

Lists allows you to add Twitter users (whether you follow them or not) to both public and private lists. You can view and share Lists, and see all the members, as well as their content. Zapier allows us to automate and set rules on who and when to add to Lists, giving us greater control over them. This transforms Lists into an engine of its own, working in the background, creating unique and valuable audiences to tap into later. This is a great example of what Marketing Automation can do for your project.

4. CRM + Others (Hubspot, Salesforce, MailChimp, and more!)

CRM automations can get complex! With so much data just in the CRM itself, it can be tough to determine what’s relevant and what isn’t. But using Zapier and custom fields can give us better data, and only when we ask for it.

Combined with services like Gmail, Facebook Lead Forms, and Google Sheets, we can get better data in the CRM, as well as track it externally. Simple automations like those with form services like Gravity Forms or Ninja forms are easy, expanding on the native functionality and creating more robust ways to respond and track web inquiries.

5. Trello + Almost Anything

Trello is a very flexible service. We could write a blog post just covering Trello, (and we might!) but the idea here is that by combining Trello and Zapier, we are able to create and manage lists automatically, while we can focus on what needs to be done.

It’s also very useful for setting reminders and creating shared dashboards. And now, with Trello’s “Butler” feature, automations are even easier (and more complex) with built in triggers and rules. The opportunity for streamlining certain workflows here is limitless!
